Rachel Meyer Gonzalez serves as our Neurologic Music Therapy Clinical Consultant. Rachel has been a music therapist for over 21 years, with 18 of those as a Neurologic Music Therapy Fellow. Currently based in Houston, TX, Rachel assists the MMTS staff by providing remote peer supervision and program development support to our team.
Rachel is passionate about using music therapy and NMT interventions to serve those she has the privilege and honor of coming into contact with, either as their primary therapist, teaching the next generation of MT’s or advocating for access to music therapy services. Allowing music to be a catalyst for people to regain skills after injury, and the impact that has on their lives as well as their families brings no greater joy. Rachel also served on the board of directors for the Western Region of the American Music Therapy Association (WRAMTA) and as Government Relations Representative from 2005-2012. She received the President’s Award from WRAMTA in 2012 in recognition for her service to the region and her advocacy efforts.
