"I think music in itself is healing. It's an explosive expression of humanity. It's something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we're from, everyone loves music."
Billy Joel
Kourtney Osborne, MT-BC, (she/her/hers) graduated from West Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in music, emphasis in music therapy, and completed her internship at Children’s Hospital of New Orleans. Throughout her education, she worked with patients and clients from all walks of life, from pediatric inpatient rehabilitation to adult mental health settings.
Kourtney is a Sacramento area native who has always had a love for music. Growing up, Kourtney and her twin sister, Brooke, could often be found singing together from the age of 3 at local events throughout the community, later starting a rock band in high school, and even going to college together to study music therapy! In full identical twin fashion, Kourtney and Brooke found their way back together again after internships to work at McConnell Music Therapy together!
Kourtney is thrilled to be a part of the MMTS team working with the mental health and adult oncology populations. When not serving her patients and clients through music therapy, Kourtney can be found rocking out with Brooke in the band room at home, attending concerts, teaching music lessons, going on camping/hiking trips, and spending time with friends and family.
