"Music is the great uniter. An incredible force. Something that people who differ on everything and anything else can have in common"
Sarah Dessen
Brooke Osborne, MT-BC (she/her/hers) is a graduate from West Texas A&M University and received her bachelor’s degree in music with an emphasis in Music Therapy. She completed her internship at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare in Tallahassee, Florida, working with a range of patients across the lifespan, from infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to older adults in rehabilitation and cancer center settings.
Born and raised in beautiful Northern California, Brooke grew up with her identical twin sister, who also happens to share her love of music. They grew up singing together and even started their own cover band in high school where Brooke sang, played guitar and drums, and wrote original songs. Towards the end of high school, Brooke learned about the field of Music Therapy and was immediately intrigued. As a career that combined her love of music and passion for empowering others, she knew this was her calling. Eager to learn more, she was introduced to Tara McConnell at McConnell Music Therapy Services. Now working for MMTS she is excited to be able to come “full circle” and be a part of the team!
Brooke has always had a love of music and strongly believes in its power to impact people. She is a believer that music exposes the the fingerprints of a generation through the lyrics and sounds of that time. It ebbs and flows throughout history, permanently engraved, more fulfilling than a physical object because it will never rot, grow old, decompose, or simply disappear altogether. Brooke has a passion for harnessing this natural beauty of music and sharing it with others.
Brooke is thrilled to be back in her hometown after her music therapy education in order to serve the pediatric and adult oncology patients at Sutter Health in Sacramento. As a NICU graduate herself, Brooke is humbled to also provide music therapy services in the NICU at Sutter.
